Posted - January 14 2006 : 6:01:31 PM I heard a rumour that Oliver Stone is doing a big screen adaptation of Son of the Morning Star. Anyone else heard anything about this? |

Posted - February 09 2006 : 5:30:43 PM Finally got around to visiting the Internet Movie Database. Indeed, a remake of "Son of the Morning Star" is in the works! Details, at this moment, are scarce, but here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486654/combined
We'll have to keep an eye out for this one! |

Posted - February 02 2006 : 07:11:59 AM It's listed on the Internet Movie Database. I thought parts of 'Alexander' were quite compelling too. I think there was a novel called 'Marching to Valhalla' about Custer which was supposed to be made into a movie but never got the green light. Brad Pitt was the favourite to play the lead! Maybe that had something to do with Stone? Always pictured Russell Crowe as Captain Benteen! Anyway, we can dream. |

Posted - January 28 2006 : 09:27:50 AM Haven't heard that ... he was rumored to be doing another - on Little Bighorn - the name of which escapes me now ... but, that was some time ago. Oliver Stone is, in my opinion, a great filmmaker. However, how true to the story he would be is a mater of concern. He can do some good work, though. I rather liked "Alexander," though it was kind of a box-office flop.
