Going to be hard to have a "good" one these days, barring any sudden change of direction, but I'm going to try. Happy New Year to you, too, DW. Same for any lost souls who wander in here. |

Happy New Year! And this is an "even" year, so that means it is a "Gathering" year, or I wish it was. I miss those things. But now I wonder about all the changes that have happened to the places we used to go, like Spirits On The River for instance. Which brings to mind, "Will there be anything left to show the world that we ever did exist?" |

Yes, Sir, things have changed. Not sure what's left - I guess Pisgah Forest, Linville Falls [minus the overhanging tree], probably Dupont State Park, CRP [though it's more of just a view than it is actually getting to the sites there]. I wonder if Louise's is still in operation. |

Louise's is still there and even has a Facebook page. I keep meaning to stop by there on my way to the Highland Games, but is seems that I am always in a rush. Chimney Rock closed off some areas and built walkways after a guy let his kid crawl under the barrier and get killed. And those sites in Asheville? I don't know. Cameron's Cabin? I wonder. I tried to go to Linville NPS a couple of years ago, but just as soon as I got into the parking lot, the rain came. Lots of it. So I went to Mt. Mitchell instead. Maybe this summer I can pick out a few spots and visit them. |

It is finally Spring in Washington State. Last week there was morning frost with pleasantly warm afternoon
My thought is to enjoy Spring! |
