Ok, granted it wasn't like Ticonderoga but, was anyone at the Bushy Run reenactment? It should have taken place already shouldn't it? If anyone went, how did it go? Reading everyone's posts on Ticonderoga makes me want to go to events again. Sounded like a blast! This year has been extremely quiet for me in the way of CW events. There are a few things coming up for fall and winter but I'm tired of my hiatus from it and am itching to do things again!

Well Lassie, the brae lads of Capt. Graham's Company of the 42nd Royal Highland Regiment, including your most humble servant, were in attendence. Along with us, His Majesty's Forces consisted of Capt. Robertson's Company (Light Infantry) and Capt. Campbell's Company (Grenadiers) of the 77th Regiment of Foote (Montgomeries Highland Battalion), in addition to Capt. Ourry's Company of the 60th Royal American Regiment, and the Rangers of the Ohio Company.
The Grenadier Company of the 77th had Mohicanland's own Serjeant-Major Malcolm MacWilliam officiate at Divine Worship on Sunday Parade. And might I add that it was heartening to hear his words of inspiration before meeting our foe on the field of honor... Huzzah!!!
I have attached a pic of my lads, along with our new Regimental Flag (which made its debut that weekend as well)

Thanks for putting up the picture Sarge! You guys look great-really dashing! I'm glad that it was a good weekend for you, I'd like to get back to see it again.

I'm glad the event went well, Sarge. I hope it has helped to raise more public awareness and support for the effort to keep the site open. I wish them luck!
And yes... you guys look dashing, as always! There's just something about Highlanders that makes a lady turn her head every time! And it's not just the Lure of the Kilt, either!  |

Thank you for the compliments Kay, and I'll pass them on to the Lads this weekend at Old Bedford Village. As for wanting to get back and see it again, well we have been doing that event since 2002 as Graham's Coy., and some of us (myself included) have been going there since before that; and my Lads and I are planning on going there for many years to come...

Aye Lassie, it went bonny-well, and they had more people there on Saturday alone then on any full weekend for the past 30 years. I spoke with a few of the 'movers & shakers', and they have said that Bushy Run is almost 'in the clear', with just some final assurances to be verified by the Commonwealth.

Thank you Lassie, and I shall pass on your compliments to the Lads as well. This coming wekend at Old Bedford Village we will be again be doing a Highland Broadsword Charge against the French (both the public and the reenactors loved it last year)
...so in your honor, I shall endeavor that the Lads and I look extra dashing

Old Bedford Village-yes, another place I need to get back to. My dad worked there (in the offices) when we lived in Bedford and it was always a great place for us kids to run around and spend our days. Hope you have a great weekend! Since you are a regular at Bushy Run every year then we probably saw a glimpse of each other when I was there last summer and didn't know it!

Aye Lass, you do need to get back to OBV for a visit; especially to see the French & Indian War Reenactment which is held every year in August. In some ways, the village will be very familiar to you, and in others it will hold new discoveries as well.

You probably did catch a glimpse of me there last year, since I have not missed a year since 1999; when I first took to the field as a private soldier in Robertson's Coy. of the 77th Regiment of Foote.
