It's one of my favorite scenes of the movie, but I've always been irritated that the director didn't expand it. This is where you all (Uncas/Alice fans) come in.. I want to know your insight.
So, let's imagine the scene again. Alice is about to step off of the waterfall...Uncas reaches out and grabs her with a sharp 'Back!' and pulls her down to him, strokes her hair, and gradually holds her as the scene slowly blurs...
Then what?
We know a braid appears in her hair immediately before leaving the cave that wasn't there before. We also know that the original script called for... ahem.. much more than just holding. We also know that Eric Schweig stated in an interview (at least I know) that the scene was basically puppy love. Ok, so using this information, what do YOU think happened? He pulls her down and then what happens? Do they stay like that and he just braids her hair as she lies on him? Do they kiss? Do they sit up and chat? What did you either think realistically happened or what did you WANT to happen?
This is our chance to be creative and have the opportunity to imagine our 'dream' waterfall scene.. so please post what you think went on! keep in mind that it shouldn't be explicit..;] ;]

Welcome aboard, Heyepic! I do think quite a few members around this board would agree with you about expanding the scene. But there are some that would disagree and say no, that it would just hurt the movie. My opinion would be to add it. It's been sixteen years since the movie, it would only add some flavor to it. (not that it needs any more flavor, don't want to offend!)  |

Even if it wasn't added if you could select to see it within the movie from the bonus features would be nice. |

I agree Light of the Moon,in-bonus featured-section definately.This would be amazing, if this could be done on a special DVD-so much work missed-be great to see...

| more importantly it was uncas's love for alice. they made love under the waterfall, its in the original script, but that being left out, we find uncas runnunig out of his mind, BY HIMSELF, choosing to not wait for his dad or hawkeye to help, and trying to take on all the indans by himself. and ultimalely he did pretty good ut lost to a better fighter, that being magua. so uncas, he got himself killed and got alice killed. and for what? he coulda waited and saved her and himself. i go give him props for attacking the indians on the narrow path, where superior numbers were not as much as an advantage and where he could one by one fight them. but he got the best deal, one romp with alice and a good fight with magau would make a good end to life |
