This coming Saturday a festival commemorating Mary Jemison's life will be held in Adams County, PA, near the site where she lived and was abducted by a Shawnee raiding party:

http://www.gettysburg.com/maryjemison/

The website includes a calendar of events and a list (under "April 5th, 2008") of speakers and vendors who will be there. Also, it features a fine painting by Robert Griffing (practically required of such websites). Anyone planning to go? Know any of the speakers?

Seems like a lot of fun. Wish I lived closer so I could go.

BW,

This would be a great event to see, for sure. I recognized two names and faces of people who will be involved, and Seamus knows them very well. Roger and Deborah (Turtle) Swartz always participate in Heritage Days at Warrior Run alongside our regiment. It was my privilege to share an early morning campfire and chat with Deb last October.
