Well, this years Grassy Run event was spectacular. Friday, (kid's day) we had at least a 1000 kids come through. On Sat & Sunday we had Mad Anne Bailey (Anne Hennis), Chief Cornstalk of the Shawanese, Simon Kenton, Daniel Boone, the Parson John, and of course Hester, the best 18th century beggar woman you've ever beheld, and many others speaking in the 1st person. I had the privilege of meeting Light of the Moon, and she loved it so much, I'm hoping she'll become a regular there. Mike & Nancy Rumping AKA Simon & Betsy Kenton |

Hey KFM! It was great getting to meet my first fellow Mohican Board Friend! And what a good performance of Simon Kenton. Some great story tellin'! And to Mrs. Kenton as well. You are right - your friend was the BEST beggar woman I've ever seen! Loved the finger necklace! Y'all should have seen it!
Grassy Run was really fun. Absolutely loved it. My poor hubby was a bit bummed about having to work. He said he's definately going next time. (I think it's to keep me from drooling over those young native men!) Yes...I am bad when it comes to those guys.
Just imagine how my mayan man felt when we first met. I blatently threw myself at him until he tried to ask me out. He freaked out after having called my name (a usual response) then he turned and ran the other way. Didn't work though! I ran him down and asked him what he wanted. Thus - our first date.
Anyway - way off topic. So sorry! If there are any other board members in the general local of a Rumping Event everyone should go!
Thanks again KFM for the personal invite. Mighty nice of you! Ya' don't suppose you could get Uncas or Wind In His Hair to come 'round next time, do ya'? I know my man will probably be with me but just to look at 'em!!!
P.S. You know you're in Red-Neck Country when you see an exit with "Front Wheel Drive Rd." written on it!

Tis so, 'Light', if'n there were as many red-necks in the western frontier as we've got 'round here now, the Shawanese would'a run back to their homelands fast as they could (LOL) |

Hell Yeah!
I was at a carnival last week with a friend and she encouraged me to try the sledge hammer ding-the-bell thing. I looked at the line, saw a bunch of yuppy men, took one look at her and said, "Nah. It ain't christian to to shame these puney little pretty boys." |

Good thing too. I'm so tired of seeing the same old, same old. Khakhi pants or shorts, polo or golf style shirts with collars, or a crispy looking Tee with some yuppy slogan or team written on it. Their type seems to be a dime a dozen and are mostly obsessed with the almighty green. Unfortunately, I've met many of men that fit this category. Too bad they've fallen so in love with material wealth they've forgotten what it means to live a little. Red Neck Style. Drinking, stories, playing pool, loud music, 4 wheeling, chasing greased pigs, catching chickens while drunk! A little foot in the mud never hurt anyone! In fact I've been to a party like that and the person I took was an old boyfriend. Wealthy, nice parents, the whole 9 yards. When he went home covered in dirt and smellin' like a farmyard they about died! He said it was the most fun he ever had. His parents said never again.
I am living proof that a girl can look prissy and still be a real person too. |

Do you mean to tell me that you actually met the infamous Hester?? I have seen likenesses of this beggar-woman, and have heard stories of the odor which emanates from her. 'Tis said that it is so horrible that one cannot stand to be anywhere near her. Why just looking at all of the dirt on her is enough to turn the stomach of any gentleman or lady.
And you survived??? |

I have been trying to locate a picture of Hester to share here, so that others may bask in the radiance of her..... er.... beauty. I know they are out there, but I can't find one right now. |

Yep. That's the farting culprit! KFM's friend was nearly a dead ringer for her! He's said they have other events coming up, I'm sure she'll be there. If so I'll take a pic and find a way to post it for all to see. (With her consent of course.) Or maybe you can post one KFM? |
