Is there anyone else on this list who worked on the movie? Particularily looking for cadre or core group members.

Thanks,
John V.

I was a military extra from july to august.
I played british, french but mainly as a scottish highlander.

From the cadre I remember bonesteele, cosgrove, the
tickle brothers, the one drunk guy who locked himself in his
car with a gun... singing songs about the south, the one
cadre who fainted at the british HQ, eric chung, the person
who drew the design for the regiment shirts (and had a birthday
on the set... someone gave hime a tabloid)

Drinking at magnolias, training at the fireman training camp
ring any memories?

I definately remember all of those things. I was there from the Albany scene to sometime in August. Do you remember Tim Cook? He wsa the short Highlander holding the torch in the "Sally Port" scene. He died a few years back due to an accident with a flintlock pistol. I still keep in touch with Ted Belue (who I mostly hung out with along)and Tony Gerard. I also did some film work for Gary Foreman and exchange emails with Dave Jergella. Oh and I also see Benton Jennings and Steve Abolt. I also worked with the "Pittsburg Pirates" on Tecumseh: The Last Warrior. Any names you recognize?

Tony Gerard? Would that be the Tony Gerard that portrays Jean Baptiste? If so, I met him last year during Frontier Days at Fort Toulouse in Alabama. Small world if we're speaking of the same man.

I was also a torchbearer in the sally port. I'm sorry to
hear about Tim. Teb Belue used to hang out at the "Swamp" at the
campground. I remember Ted playing guitar and banjo.
Steve Abolt - he was a card. It was raining during one
filming day and he pulled out what he called
"buster the body condom" - a garbage bag with holes poked
out for his arms and head. I spent a lot of time on set with
Benton Jennings. We got nutty on those days when "action" was
few and far between. I also remember scott mahaffey.
The others i remember a little but not much.
If I saw pictures of them It'd probably strike a chord.
Was Gerard the one who was cadre and was "promoted"?

I haven't kept in touch with anyone from the film though
I did run into a friend of a friend in Massachusetts who
knew about the "swamp" from a pair of CT brothers who names
escape me... one was a videographer for a courthouse, I believe.

Hello guys, for me is ever a beautiful thing to know someone who worked on LOTM.
About other people who were there...Well, several months ago, I knew Andrew Jack (one of the dialect coaches, he's listed on the End Credits of the movie), who collaborated with me explaining what he had to teach Jodhi May.
Do any of you remember him?

Hope that you read the email I sent you.
'bye

I didn't have any interaction with the dialect coaches.

I do have a story about languages... while playing the
french they asked a military extra to count to four in french
for a cannon shooting scene. The extra prompty sounded off
"un, deux, quatre.."

It didn't make it into the movie.
He missed three (trois). Ironically the person was a teacher.
Apparently not one of languages.

I asked about Tony Gerard awhile back and here I am asking again. I met a Tony Gerard last year at Frontier Days in Alabama at Fort Toulouse and was wondering if perhaps this is the same guy. I'm headed that way again Thursday and would like to see him again.

Theresa,

Yep, the same Tony Gerard who portrays Jean Baptiste was in MOHICANS. He was also very involved in the History Channel "Frontier" series, and a number of other documentaries. In the "Decisive Battles" episode on New Orleans, he played Jean Lafitte.

Thanks for this info, Two Kettles. I was in touch with Clabair and he told me of another trader friend of his that will also be at Fort Toulouse this week. Hopefully I'll be able to locate him as well as Tony, if he's there.

Just got back from Fort Toulouse and happened to see Tony Gerard again. He was busy skinning out a freshly trapped beaver and sharing his expertise on that score. Loved listening to that smooth French accent of his but I must admit that he needed a bit of soap and water to those feet!!

Also met another of Clabair's trader friends...a Mr. Wooden Hawk. Very colorful character.
