Greetings, All!
I was wondering if the birthday feature of the Board was still functioning? Or are there a couple of sharp-minded moderators out there that have taken it upon themselves to remind the rest of us when someone has a birthday???

I noticed that, Diane. The way that function works, is to show all posters' birthdays [if, of course, they set their birthdate in their profile] that are within 30 days of today's date ... but only if that poster has actually posted within the past 30 days.
It's been awhile since a birthday has shown up ... but then again, it's been kind of quiet here of late. Usually is at this time of year.
So, to answer your question, I think it's working still, but I'm not sure!!! |

Hi, Rich,
After reviewing what you've said about the function, and the parameters associated with it, I think it's safe to say that this feature is probably NOT working - at least, not consistently. Don't get me wrong, I'm not really thrilled about adding more candles to the birthday cake - although it beats the heck out of the alternative! - but I do have my birthdate in my profile and I have also posted within the last 30 days. Just thought you might want to be made aware of this little "glitch" (as if you don't have enough other things to do!).
Be well, Sachem! |

Well, until our Sachem is able to fix this glitch...
So... Diane B. Exactly when is/was your birthday, so that we can say the appropriate words?

Hello, Everyone!
Thanks for the birthday wishes - much appreciated! And Rich, I'm glad you were able to find & fix the problem with the "birthday thingy!"
Since my birthday was on a weekday this year, my husband & I decided we would wait until tonight to go out & celebrate (that way, we don't have to worry about getting up early for work the next day!). He is taking me out to dinner at the Aberdeen Barn in Norfolk tonight & this place has a reputation for great prime rib and lobster, too! YUM! I'm really looking forward to that!!! |
