I am sorry to hear your news; I hope for the best for you and your husband during the special time that lies ahead, for you to be together.

Dear Joyce,
My heart goes out to you & Gary for all that you have endured thus far, and please know that I will continue to pray for the both of you as you enter into this next phase of your life's journey together.
I have stood in your shoes before - more times than I care to remember - as many members of my family have been faced with one form or another of "the 'c' word". The two most recent were the passing of my mother in March of 1994, at age 73 (to a brain tumor) and on April 28, 2002 my baby sister passed away at the age of 41 (advanced phase IV lung cancer, when initially diagnosed - and phase V is as high as it goes...).
I think it's wonderful that you are taking time off of work to be with Gary & I know that you will both do all that you can for one another. In spite of that rock wall in the distance, I can tell you from personal experience that you spoke volumes when you wrote:

Joyce,
I am sad to hear of your news but know from reading your writings that you will truly make your time with Gary a meaningful and loving time. Everybody's else has pretty much summed up my feelings in their posts, including the fact that I too "have been there" when my mom passed away from stomach cancer in 2000. Please know that the greatest gift you can give Gary is your time and your love. Each smile, each shared moment and each hour and day together are both your gift to each other at this stage in your relationship and also a gift from God. I pray for both of you in the time ahead and ask God to hold both of you in His hands.
