I was looking at some details on my DVD, in the Cameron's Cabin Massacre seen, and I noticed that Hawkeye was wearing leggins and breeches, not a breech cloth. The leggins come just above the knee and you can clearly see that his legs above that point are covered by cloth. Later, in the sceens after Fort William Henry, he is seen wearing different leggins that come up much higher (really too high) and a breech cloth. So at some point he changes his mode of dress. Of he loses his breeches. I figure this probably happened at at Fort WH, probably around the time of the "kiss". But does anyone have any idea of why two styles of dress were used?
