Curious: who else has seen this movie? I saw it two days ago and was absolutely blown away by Colin Firth's performance. Not surprising he's up for the best actor Oscar this year.

I saw this last week, and really, really enjoyed it. Colin Firth is amazing. In fact, his stammer was so real, that it actually made me feel uncomfortable to watch. I found myself wanting to do what people tend to want to do when in the presence of a stammerer... finish the word for them.

Also very memorable is Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Logue, the speech therapist who helped the King and became his lifelong friend.

One of the most fun scenes is when the wife of Logue (played by the wonderful Jennifer Ehle, of Pride & Prejudice fame) comes home unexpectedly to find the Queen of England sitting in her kitchen! While trying to recover from her shock, she manages to feebly ask her husband, "Will... their Majesties... be staying for dinner?" Love it!

The movie was funny, tender, emotional, and very respectful. I liked it!

"It is more deeply stirring to my blood than any imaginings could possibly have been."
