Good news for readers who enjoyed Albion's Seed, Paul Revere's Ride, and Washington's Crossing: David Hackett Fischer has written a biography (just published) of Samuel de Champlain called Champlain's Dream. If he follows the pattern set in those earlier books, there should be tons of information about the times and setting -- which means, in this case, about the Indians tribes with whom Champlain dealt, and about New France and the area surrounding the lake that bears his name.

So you're a member too, Rich? No doubt we're not the only ones on this board. I could spend a great deal of money there. |
