Well MG, we will find out soon if 'The One' was able to convince the IOC to bring the Olympics 'home' to Chicago. I sure hope that Barry has his best 'tap shoes' on since he has a lot of pockets to fill, belonging to those who pull his strings, back in the Windy City. Besides, Obama has invested a lot of time into this project; granted he can't talk with his theatre commander in Afganistan more than once in several months, but he can make time for this...
Yeah, he's the Commander-In-Chief alright... At least until the adults get home!

Those things have turned into White Elephants. - They cost a total fortune to build, (like we aren't already in enough debt) to basically impress folks with it's appearance, a complete waste. Who in their right mind wants to see/be in Chicago in the summer, - most are trying to get out. Rio makes a LOT more sense, costs us nothing, and folks would WANT to go there, more power to them - hope they get it hands down. |

You are right MG, but folks like Obama and his 'bagmen' do not give a damn what it cost those who pay the bills (that would be folks like me and you), only that public monies are available to stuff in the pockets of certain political supporters/property owners. Property owners like Presidential Advisor Valerie Jarrett, who is arguably Chicago's biggest slum lord (does anyone here want to discuss her Grove Parc housing complex? I didn't think so...) The same politically-friendly property owners who can stand to make a truckload of cash from the construction of sites like an olympic village.
This is the same Valerie Jarett who championed (and recruited) the former 'czar' Van Jones. You remember who he was, right? He was the self-avowed Communist, 9/11 'truther', and vocal supporter of convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal (I know that doesn't matter to some of you, but such 'cozy' connections does not make the election of this president a 'glorious day' to this cop)
But then again, Valerie is the president's closest advisor, and why not? The Jarett and Obama families go way back. Valerie Jarrett is the reason Obama moved to Chicago. She got Michelle Obama a job as assistant in city hall working for Mayor Daley. And her mother appointed Bill Ayers' dad, Tom, to the board of her foundation, the Erikson Institute.
I can just hear the Brown-Shirters howl in disgust (as they pause from polishing their jack-boots) when the see that the old Sarge has made yet another connection between Obama and William Ayers. But let me ask you, what are the odds that someone who is like a 'sister' (The One's own words) to Barack and Michelle Obama and who also knows William Ayers, and yet the president still claims that he doesn't really know who Ayers was?
Call me suspicious, but the more I look into the upper echelon of this administration, the more I am convinced that any/all of them could be cast as villians in the next James Bond movie!
