Posted - July 01 2004 : 10:18:33 AM It matters not whether you've been to all five six seven Gatherings or nary a one. Based on what you've read, heard, thought about, or experienced [of course], which Gathering would you have attended if you could have attended but one? |

Posted - February 09 2010 : 10:42:08 PM Hey Jo - THAT was the weekend I found the message board and saw I was missing a gathering - I was sick. I was just a couple of days from being able to say I had attended them all. Because had I known I would have been there!
I can remember being so excited anticipating upcoming gatherings after that. Still am!
Good to "see" ya! Hope you and all your precious sisters are doing well - Miss Y'all!

Posted - February 09 2010 : 8:29:07 PM OH, My Heavens, the FIRST Mohican Gathering was the one to be at..the start......because.....we all, at the time of the NEW internet and the wonder of this site; how would we meet and greet....???At the time there was many who said,as did I, what would we tell our friends, family, work spots....where we we going to? It is in the archives, but my memory is on this: Gretchen, who blogged with us all, and we had come up with many an excuse to make it to a "Gathering": said: "just say you are going to a Last of the Mohicans Gathering and no one will believe it anyway..." That first Gathering was magical with the bunkhouses, MMMMarcia, the upside down showing of the movie; and not quite knowing if there were "ax killers" as my husband worried (so he sent me with my sisters); how could these Gatherings not be good? The first was absolutely great, as all of the ones I (and my sisters) have been too. To anyone, they will be great. Just my comments from a long time lover of the Movie and this site.

PS I also have to admit; having seen Eric Schweig walk up to that eating area at the Chimney Rock Pavilion was a site to behold; having Wes Studi use our motel room for a relief break; talking to Russell Means and having him be so mellow.....and having Soldier #2 come to our aid in our "lost" times.....always such a great time. I am so blessed to have been to these Gatherings. but the first was still the most wonder. It started it all. |

Posted - July 01 2004 : 12:24:31 PM Well, the ONLY Gathering I have attended was the Gathering in 2002. It was very deeply stirring to my blood & I enjoyed it immensely & I would definitely do it all over again! That being said, if I could "go back in time" and attend a different Gathering, I would have to choose Gathering 2001, so that I could meet Wes Studi! |
