938.85 KB . Two Rev solders - one from N.H. Unit #4 in the green uniform, saw action just about everywhere - and the other in the blue & white which Gen. Washington wanted the troops to have - but they seldom did. Different states often provided different uniforms. . Image Insert:

. Every year the Fort at No.4 goes kinda "off topic" in time frame - having a Revolutionary War weekend & even a Vikings weekend once a year. - Lack of enough F&I War near by - we do get a Mass. Unit most years. - This year a Revolutionary War Artillery Unit from R.I. came up, really knew their stuff - and they put on a damn good show. - They were only able to bring two 3# field pieces - lack of manpower - virus related. - The Mass. unit looked poorly dressed, to say the least - like a REAL Rev War foot soldier. ... I was there on a Saturday & the turn out was pretty good - considering a the virus etc. - The Sunday turn-out may have been better - often is. |

Posted - October 13 2020 : 07:40:37 AM Looks like they had a good event. I went to one at Walnut Grove Plantation the weekend before last. It was done with drive-through only spectators, but at least the camps were normal. There is one coming up the first weekend of November. Actually two. Both are at Camden. The reenactors and the site had a falling out, so they are having two competing events. That never goes well. And new Covid restrictions get added every day. I think I will just pass on both of these. |
