I was just reading the Asheville newsletter and it made me think about the locations we used to visit at the Gatherings. Would we recognize them? "Will there be anything left to show the world that we ever did exist?"

I know about the damage in Chimney Rock, but that is the town. How did the mountain fare? And Linville Gorge? I have heard nothing about it. Is Louise's OK? And Dupont Forest? I know it got damage, but how much?

I haven't tried driving there because there are too many roads that are not passable, particularly around the Linville area. And access to the Dupont Forest area is limited. I hope by this summer things will be better.

Can't be of much help Fitz, - can you drive there??? - Maybe try calling any people or business you're famaliar with - good luck.
