hey folks,
been lurking around for awhile thought id drop a line. my name is matt and i live in southeastern pa, i came apon this site a while back when surfing around one night. naturaly iam a huge fan of LOTM and colonial history for that matter. i reenact everything from early jamestown militia, golden age of piracy,FandI war, AWI,1812war and some other things as well. i would have to say that the FandI war is my favorite. my group portrays french-canadian milice. so thats all for now. as a ode to my irish/delaware indian heritage my user name is halfbreed.

Aye, GG..and I apologize I did not mention you in my previous post as an old friend.....after I posted I scrolled around and saw you were still around...not many of us "elders" left, huh? (Mark, who is that??).....All is well.....my other part is most dominant these days.....that being cousin Malcolm, who is now Sjt. Major in British Army......he struts around and barks at people and hobnobs with the officers all the times. But actually, he's still just old Malcolm to me, enjoys his port and ale and tabak more than ever. Sure, all is well. One more year and I hear that Dr. Uncle Mark will retire from that day job of educatin' the young ones.....then that Dr. Uncle Mark person will really cease to exist and I believe myself will get a bit stronger as Many Flags comes back to do more treking and hunting with cousin Seamus whom I just talked with today. All for now.....I'll pop in at times.....Many Flags of the Allemaengel ( Hi Rich!)

Well smack my hiney and call me Suzanne!...HEY MARK!!!!!

We've missed you in these here parts, but it is always good to see you! Hope all is well with you!

Hey all,

Wow...I looked at your treking page there Pvt Chauncey....Really well done!.

I do C/W myself ( Confederate Infantry and yes, we are doing it hard-core).

But....I've ALWAYS been drawn to the Longhunters and Roger's Rangers and all....Must be the latent Marine sniper in me.

Anyway...Tis time for some more

Oh, here's a small tip for all who "lurk" in the woods.....I've found that if you take either some dried moss or warm sand and put it into your wet footwear that it helps it dry faster. And we all know that dried moss can be used to keep out feeties warm when stuffed into our footwear.

Ah,

Bit of a surprise there, Chauncey. May I ask "Why not?"

Good day,
Thanks for the kind words. That site gets harder and harder to keep up. In part because I burned out on it but in part because I have so much that I want to do with it, I end up spinning around on what to do next and doing nothing at all!

Getting hte Lake George Tactical reporst up is the most important thing for me. Anyway, thanks again!

Pvt. Chauncey

A truly amazing number of links there, and quite a site that you have. I'd say the life of a LongHunter" would be a tad dangerous today, - it was a "very high risk" occupation back in the 1760's with the addition of hostile indians. The "Tent Smiths" & Historical Trekkers etc. - a lot very interesting material there. ... No, I don't "trek" per se, but I do quite a bit of hiking "up-country" every week. Winter hiking/snowshoeing is tops, - just can't beat it. Keep posting Chauncy ... ;)

getting folks to go to more then one "far away" FandI event is difficult for us becuase everybody does more then one time period. id love to do more but you know how it goes, you cant force people to go. whats the concern with crown point? we did the 1st GE at boones in 02 and we had a great time. skip the next one, that was even to far for me. about ft. ti we need to secure a inviatation from the site to particapte. we will be there in 08 of cource, we have been to ft.4 but not for a few years, again with our small group we need to pick our spots so to speak.

Good day,
Yup, on and off. I used to do more of it but now the bulk of my trekking is not with COHT but is much more the real thing (i.e., the real enemy) during the Lake George Tactical. But you might have found my trekking page on my website: http://www.reenacting.net/trekking/

Here's the LGT: http://www.reenacting.net/lgt

Are you a trekker too??

Chauncey

Hello Pvt. Chauncy, ... are you involved in trekking (I belive it called that) also? I did a "search" about that at least a year ago, probably a tad longer. That name Chauncy rings a bell from that search ... welcome aboard btw.

I am so glad to see people leaving the Rangers to do French -- well done in leading them that direction! We need more French. There are too many Rangers (including myself -- http://reenacting.net/sfmlh.html).

I notice your schedule doesn't include to Fort Ti or Fort 4 or Rogers Island, NOR does it include (SHOCK!) Fort William Henry's 250th???

I'm sorry you are going to do the (sorry, THE) Grand Encampment at Crown Point, I'm patently NOT supporting that one.

Aside from Ridley Creek, what other events are you doing? Does your group have a website?
