Posted - June 02 2003 : 9:57:32 PM ...into the Wilderness of Oregon! A 2-week trek, following the trail of Lewis and Clark! What an ad-ven-tia!
Well... OK. So it's really Portland, not the wilderness. And the "Iron Horse" I'll be riding on (Amtrak) follows the trail of Lewis and Clark for part of the way, through North Dakota and Montana. And the trek is actually a journey of 3 days, each way. But it will still be quite an ad-ven-tia for me! I have always used the Great Sky-Bird before... never the Iron Horse.
I'm leaving from Syracuse tomorrow evening (Tuesday the 3rd). I'll be visiting my folks for a week once I'm out there. They have no computer, so I won't have the opportunity to stop by Mohicanland until I return home. (OK, Doc M... you can stop leaping up and down now!) See you all when I get back!
Scout... what do you mean "That trunk won't fit in the canoe?" I simply can't leave anything home... I need it all......

Posted - June 30 2003 : 08:35:02 AM ...er...no, Rich... you didn't!
I think perhaps our friend "DH" must have read something else on the boards and thought it was mine? Or perhaps something I wrote somewhere else about a different subject....??
At any rate, for those who may be interested, I will be posting my report on my "Wilderness Trek" in this thread very soon. It took longer than I thought to get it written, plus I have been waiting to see if my photos turned out OK, with the thought of posting some along with the report.
"Soon." (Benjamin Martin to Col. Tavington in "The Patriot.")

Posted - June 16 2003 : 6:09:33 PM Wilderness Woman reporting for duty, Sir!!
Yes, Sir. The Iron Horse just left me off in Syracuse-town this morning. 'Twas a most interesting trek, full of wonderous sights to behold. I must finish unpacking my trunk, laundering my clothing and otherwise get myself settled back into my regular duties. I will write down my full report as soon as I am able, Sir. I have so much to tell...
