Posted - September 07 2007 : 12:20:56 PM Hey Mohicanlanders!
To update everyone on recent events at the Williams' residence. Saturday, August 25, Claude was painting the ceiling in the dining room and decided to have himself a heart attack...broke out in a profuse sweat, burning sensation in his neck and jaw area, and all color absent from his face....never did he have a chest pain. After a little persuasion, we went to the ER, they transported him to B'ham to do a cath...concluded there was too much blockage to place a stint and he had bypass (triple) surgery on Tuesday, the 28th. He's home now, doing great...eating better and has thrown the smokes away. He has a long road ahead of him but there was no permanent damage done to the heart and we expect a full recovery.
Thanks, Obe, for the message and for keeping the "thoughts" going here.
Take care and I'll update you as things progress. Keep us in your prayers.

Posted - September 20 2007 : 12:40:52 PM Very true, Christina! And the really fun part for me is that having now met Fitz in person, when he says something funny, I can now hear his quiet Southern-accented voice and see the slight smile and twinkle in his eye. Makes it all the funnier. |

Posted - September 20 2007 : 12:26:11 PM Fitz, for the first time in a long time, your Magua-surgeon comment prompted me to have one of the signature Mohicanboard "spraying Coke on the computer screen" moment!

Posted - September 19 2007 : 2:55:57 PM Theresa, So sorry to hear about this, but doesn't it make you grateful for modern medical technology? What a blessing that he received the treatment he needed, and I'm sure he can't complain about his home nurse, either. Take care and best wishes for a quick recover for Claude! |

Glad to see you have maintained your sense of humor, Theresa!! [Cardiac Claude] And even happier that Claude is doing well! He was my Nolichucky Buddy back in 2002 - great guy.
Tell him I wish him the best and am most certainly praying for him. I know you will be taking good care of the lucky lad.
Hopefully he'll be able to do the Nolichucky again someday. The doctor said he expected a 100% heart. He's feeling better everyday...just gets a bit frustrated because he tires easily but his strength will come back, it's just going to take time. As for my sense of humor...it's either that or cry and I hate crying. I'll keep you guys posted. |

Theresa, so sorry to hear of all Claude (and YOU) have gone through recently. Some guys feel much better once those clogged little heart arteries are replaced. It is great to hear no permanent damage was done! What a scary time for you guys.
I'll be thinking of you both and tell Claude to stay away from that "tightening" I still remember our conversation at Lake Lure and think that is one of the funniest things I have ever heard!
Big Hugs to you both!!
GG
I'm sure that "tightening" is off the list...for awhile anyway. We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. He's doing great and has a doctor's appointment tomorrow (Monday). I'll update you guys when I can. |

Posted - September 08 2007 : 08:45:10 AM I haven't been around long, Theresa, but I am sorry to hear about Claude. I'm glad that he is doing well. If his doctor doesn't suggest it, be sure to ask about Cardiac Rehab. For those who have had bypass, they can often start it 6-8 weeks after the surgery. It will help him get his energy back.
I did wonder why Obe had taken over the thoughts of the day. . . |
