Good morning!

Well, the Gathering is long past now, but it is obvious to me that it was a resounding success. E-mails, phone calls, letters ... they keep coming and EVERYONE agrees that it was one of their favorite times. When we first put The Gathering Pages up, they garnered more hits per day than ANY page we had ever put up before! That's pretty amazing, if you think about it, since we've had pages devoted to some of LOTM's major stars! Seems for everyone of us that actually attended, there were a slew more who wanted to, or at least were VERY curious as to how the weekend played out ... Of course, anticipated photos of our honorary guest probably helped to pad the totals ... just a tad! Anyway, here's an article, sent our way, about the '99 Gathering.

As for The River Walk Property ... Tommy Thompson, a ranger at the DuPont State Forest, had this to say:

"I do not have a
contact for followup on the purchase of the Sterling property. The
Conservation Fund is still trying to purchase it. We are waiting to
hear back from Sterling. Unsure if they are going to sell to us or
not. The Governor has called Sterling and voiced his personal concerns
about the property being developed."

So, if you feel strongly about preserving the tract (including Bridal Veil, Triple, & High Falls) from private developers, please write letters to the Congressmen below. (E-mails, by the way, are usually only accepted from constituents.) Also, included is a link to the DuPont Web Site that you may find of interest. The time to apply pressure is probably now, so do get a letter(s) out ASAP!

Later today, we'll be adding a few more pictures to The Gathering Pages, so check in later on ...
