I was visiting family on Hatteras Island this past weekend - which is about as far east as you can go from Mohicanland in N.C. without falling into the ocean! On Saturday night, we turned on the TV and one of the satellite channels (Bravo, I think it was called)was showing "The Crucible." Since LOTM is the one & only Daniel Day-Lewis film I have ever watched, I was most anxious to watch this movie. My sister & I stayed up to watch it and it was quite interesting to see DDL portraying a character other than "Hawkeye." Both my sister & I found the film to be a little hard to follow - possibly because Bravo would break in with one commercial & then jump right back into the film, seemingly right in the middle of a scene. I might have to rent this movie & watch it again just to see if that's the way the movie was actually made, or if it was the way that Bravo broadcast it that made it so hard to follow???
I would be interested in reading comments from others that have watched this movie; what did you think of it? I think it's safe to say that I would not watch this one over and over again, the way I do LOTM!
Anyway, Bravo must be having some kind of DDL-fest this week because tomorrow night, they're showing "The Boxer." Not having satellite TV at my home here in VA, I won't be able to watch this myself, but if any of you out there pick up this channel, I believe the film is being shown at 8:00 tomorrow night.
Have a good week, one and all!
