Dougie MacLean is referred to as the "Scottish James Taylor." "Caledonia," one of his most popular songs, is considered the "unofficial" anthem of Scotland. Anyone who has followed ethnic folk music may remember MacLean (or McLean) as a member of the 70's groups Tannahill Weavers and Silly Wizard. (More things that date me.)
If you like his music, he is putting together a 7-part series for the BBC, "Transatlantic Connections," that is due out around Christmas. I would think that PBS or A&E would pick it up.
