She looks great, Rich! Thanks for the picture and sharing. I look forward to the day we can all meet her. What an inspiration. Give her a big ol' kiss from us and a little whisper in her ear that we love her. |

Yikes, gotta hurry before the topic gets locked!! Been thinking hard on this one....
Dear precious little Sophia,
You burst into Western NC like a tender tulip through a late winter snow, too early for the warmth of spring sun to nurture you. But thanks to some gifted doctors and nurses (gifted is an understatement, it is more a calling for them) and your determined, indomitable spirit your sweet being is now thriving and moving to the next phase in your little life. LIFE IN FEDERICIVILLE! WOW - what a real treasure to be born with 9 big brothers and sisters. There for you to learn from all the days of your life. Their collections of life lessons will be invaluable to you. Those parents of yours are pretty special also - unboundless love and hope for your future.
Many of us here in MohicanLand, while we had due fears, just had a feeling that you would come through this tumultuous early life like a little star - and here you are. There will be bad days now and again I know, but you are so strong now considering all you've been through - more than most of us have endured in our lifetime - you will flourish and be a bright shining vision that will remind all of us how precious life is!
I had the privilege of meeting you when you were but two weeks old. Fragile, like a little bird fallen from its nest. Hooked up to lifelines, lifetubes, lifewires all doing what your sweet Mom had done for you just days before. You've come a long way little Miss and I can't wait to get my hands on you some day soon!!!
Welcome to the world, little Sophia!!

I just went back and looked at the picture of Sophia when she was a newborn. It is truly a miracle that tiny fragile body has grown into the healthy happy little girl in the newest picture. You are a miracle, Sophia. God has something special planned for you. You have already touched so many lives in so many ways you'll never know. I look forward to meeting you. You are a winner! With love, Chris |

Dear Sophia,
I truly feel blessed to have been allowed to share in the first few months of your life, through the pages of this website. You have met every challenge, beaten all the odds, and emerged on the other side of your fight for life so much the stronger because of all you have been through. You life is truly a miracle; you are an angel of God sent down to earth to enrich and bless the lives of everyone around you. I have no doubt that you will continue to thrive and that you will grow into a beautiful young girl and someday, you will be a remarkable young woman. Your life will be rich and full, surrounded by your very special family, and all of them love you beyond words.
You have touched the lives of many, and although you may never meet all of us, we all prayed for you and kept a special place for you in our hearts. You are an inspiration to us all and we wish you all the best that life has to offer. May God continue to bless you and keep you in His care, |

Sophia, It has been a special and moving experience to follow your entrance into the world and witness your perseverance through all that's gone on in your young life. You have come through more in the months since your birth than many of us face in a whole lifetime. We have shed tears for you in the difficult times and shed tears -- of joy! -- when you came through them. Sophia, I truly believe that in these difficult months you have been touched by the hand of God and smiled up into his loving face with those big brown eyes. I believe His hand will lead you through the rest of a long and wonderful life. You have been born to a wonderful family and your life is treasured by countless others who have prayed for you, read of your progress and rejoiced at your victories. May God continue to hold your hand on the beautiful road I'm sure that awaits you! Peace and love always, Christina |

Rich and Elaine: She is gorgeous. Another little Mohican Maniac. Never had a doubt that she would be beautiful and well. All these prayers couldn't have been for naught. Can't wait to meet her in person next year. Have you had a cradle board made for her yet?? Ros |

Little Princess,
May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live! May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back, the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields...
May the frost never afflict your spurs. May the outside leaves of your cabbage be free from worms. May the crows never pick your haystack, and may your donkey always be in foal...And may you be half-an-hour in heaven before the devil knows you’re dead!
