All right Ros, are you out there? Or did Chingachook use that fancy blue whacker on you? We missed you very much at the Gathering, but come on now, it's time to stop keeping us in suspense and tell us how YOUR weekend was! Hellllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?! Stephanie

I second that, Stephanie! After hearing all of these stories about this most unique Lady at G5, I want to hear everything about this PowWow she chose over spending time with US. I'm just hoping she's a real person and not a figment of you Mohicanites' imagination or an intentially made-up person described to us newbies for your own entertainment. The more I think about that possibility the more I wonder. Noooobody could really be like this Roz person you all talked about! Could they?

She is real alright. A wonderful and inspirational person. In fact, she inspired me to get my "Uncas" license plate after I saw her "Magua" license plate at the first Gathering! caitlin

Well I have searched high and low for a picture I have from Gathering 3 of Roz and me. We are aiming long rifles at each other at CRP (she THINKS she's the #1 Magua fan but I know better!) Anyway, can't find the picture but trust me, she's real! And definitely one of a kind! Stephanie

Hey Ros, I'm sending a signal too! I sent you an e-mail back during the awful fires to make sure you were okay out there in Arizona...you were one of the people I missed seeing the most! Hope you're doing well!

Okay everyone, I'm back!
Wow, what wonderful accolades. I should stay away more often to get all these neat complements. Ahhhh, my hat size just increased three fold. Have to add more feathers! I really missed you all too. I couldn't believe that Russell scheduled this event at the same time as the Gathering. As soon as we decide on next year's date, I'mm making sure he picks another weekend. Although he did ask me why he wasn't invited!!!!!!!! So who knows, maybe we'll have another guest next year! The Sun Dance was incredible. A very holy ritual for the Lakota and there isn't much I can really share, other than it was transformational for me. I was in charge of the fire pit, quite a honored role I was told. (I think it was just assigned to me because I am the earliest riser!) It was neat though, waking up each morning at 4, opening my tent flap and seeing a wild buffalo outside grazing away. He and I got to be sort of friends by the end of the week. But that's another story. The whole event has really helped me to clarify my role in life and as a result, many wonderful things are happening. No, I haven't met my own Magua yet, but when its right, it will happen. In the meantime, am enjoying life, getting better at throwing those tomahawaks (so watch out Nathan) and looking forward to the next Gathering.

Hi, Ros!
I haven't yet had the pleasure of making your acquaintance, but I've heard lots of great things about you! This year's Gathering was the first one I have attended; I wanted very much to go last year but I had just started a new job a few months earlier & did not have enough vacation time on the books to allow it! As a result, I've missed out on meeting both Eric Schweig AND Wes Studi - as well as some other pretty terrific folks, such as yourself! I did try to convince Rich to contact DDL and see if he could persuade him to attend this year's Gathering, but to no avail. What with Rebecca expecting the birth of their baby & all, plus DDL's reputation for being somewhat reclusive, Rich didn't seem to think we'd have much success convincing "Hawkeye" to return to Mohicanland!
However, since you obviously have some close personal ties to Russell Means - and he DID ask why he wasn't invited to this year's Gathering - I think it would be GREAT if you could convince him to attend Gathering VI! I seem to remember reading somewhere in his interview on this website, that he & DDL got along pretty well & Russell really seemed to like him. Who knows - maybe we can invite Russell, and then maybe he could help persuade DDL to show up, too! Wow, just imagine: Chingachcook AND Hawkeye at ONE GATHERING! Even if it doesn't come to pass, a girl can dream...

Hello, Ros, and welcome home!! Claude and I certainly missed seeing you at this year's Gathering but, of course, you DID have a good reason. Glad to hear that the Sun Dance was the experience you had hoped. Looking forward to hearing more about it and Russell and everything. Again, welcome home. Any pics?

Welcome, Ros!!!!
For anyone interested, here are my brief impressions on the one & only Sundance I attended, back in 1987. This is from a post on the Old Mohican Board - 1998:Sundance Post Maybe this coincides with your feelings a bit, Ros?
While there, at the Old Board, I briefly scanned the Archive that contained that post. WOW! Is all I can say!!! I forgot about a lot of that stuff! I can see how my "Weekly Updates" got started - things were happenin'!!!
